#GG&MG : Let's start a conversation

Golf...it's all many of us ever talk about. And why not? It's infuriating and intoxicating, ridiculous and sublime, easily the most frustrating and addictive of pastimes. We love it, and we love to talk about it.

The sheer weight of information available facilitates this, but can make things much more confusing. When golf magazines print contradictory advice from two highly regarded coaches in the same issue what hope is there for we average golfers?

Shared experience is helpful; personal recommendations from other golfers with a similar outlook to our own are very useful. Others may have persisted with an idea we have rejected too early, without proper scrutiny, or guide us to others we may have missed. Many of us have already benefited from this on Twitter, and this group aims to develop this into a dialogue.

What we're suggesting is that the group works almost like a book group; members suggest something either to work on, to incorporate in our game, or to change in our outlook. We then take it away, and try to apply it in our own games and write about the results. Many of us have our own blogs, and we could write there, and post links here. Those without can use the comments section if they wish or do so via email. Hopefully there will be dialogue, both on the blog and on Twitter, using the hashtag #GG&MG

We hope this meets with your approval. If you feel there's anything that could or should be altered please don't hesitate to let us know. We don't have much experience of running this type of group, so we're happy to hear any (reasonable ;-) suggestions from those that do (Lisa, this means you!) We may make the first few suggestions to get things rolling, but we want everyone participating to feel they can make a suggestion that will be accepted. We want the group to be friendly and inclusive, the model being Lisa (@kokogirls)'s #TTUC group.

Above all, we want dialogue. About Golf, Golf and More Golf.

Let's start a conversation.

Yours in excitement,

  2. Great job getting this started. I will start the conversation by asking if men are the only ones allowed to wear kilts? ;o)

  3. Indeed they are not Heather; although ladies may be allowed to experiment with hem-line lenght more than us men, the main fundamental rule applies to ladies as it does to men...you've got to have the legs for it!
You and Lisa are, of course, allowed!

  5. Just to be clear, kilts are not compulsory...yet!
